Autumn (aka Fall in some places) is always a time of change and mostly small changes.

My biggest event of the autumn is the Harwich International Shanty festival, where I am photographer, webmistress and part-time social media manager. The weather held for our mid-October festival weekend and many thousands enjoyed the local hospitality. I am very active during the festival so anyone attending will almost certainly have seen me!

By the end of that month some major changes had happened – I’m told that the house I rent has been sold and that I have until New Year 2025 to relocate. Then my daughter decides to just leave – she’s several hundred miles away.

That means I can move into a smaller place but I have a house full of stuff!

I don’t really need this hassle with the winter (and Christmas) fast approaching!

So, what next?

I don’t know yet, I am looking in multiple directions and trying to make plans. Meanwhile daughter wants me to send her stuff up to her – I’m not yet certain I can justify the cost.

Plus la change!

Top pic is from a busking point in the Shanty festival weekend, with Harbour Control immediately behind the garden.
